Greek Salad
Greek salad is easy to prepare and it is very delicious.
A traditional Greek salad consists of cucumber, tomatoes, green bell
pepper, red onion, olives, and feta cheese. This classic combination is
delicious.
In the Greek Salad, they use Kalamata olive. The Kalamata olive is a
large, dark purple olive with a smooth, meaty texture, named after the city of
Kalamata in the southern Peloponnese, Greece. You can use black olive if Kalamata olive is not available.
Ingredients
For the salad
- 1 English cucumber
- 1 green bell pepper
- 2 cups halved cherry tomatoes
- 5 ounces feta cheese cut into cubes
- ⅓ cup thinly sliced red onion
- ⅓ cup pitted Kalamata olives
- ⅓ cup minced garlic
Dressing
- ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ teaspoon of sea salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
Preparation
Make the dressing: In a small bowl, mix together with the olive oil,
vinegar, oregano, salt, pepper, and minced garlic.
Cut all the vegetables in the 1-inch size. On a large platter, arrange the cucumber, green pepper, cherry
tomatoes, feta cheese, red onions, and olives. Drizzle with the dressing and
very gently toss. Sprinkle with oregano, season to taste, and serve.
